NPL Warns Clubs On Players’ Entitlements

The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has decided to go tough on clubs that fail to give priority to the welfare of their players when the 2010/2011 season starts.
The Premier League has warned all 20 clubs due to take part in the championship next season that they would not be allowed to compete if they fail to settle all their players’ entitlements for the past seasons.
Acting Executive Secretary of NPL, Tunji Babalola, noted that all clubs must fulfill their obligation before they are registered to take part in the Premier League next season.
“We are going to be serious with these clubs because we cannot just allow them treat the players the way they want.
“That is why they must pay up all arrears to the players and officials before they are allowed to play in the league next season,” Babalola said.
